10 WAYS TO PRACTICE SELF-CARE THIS SPRING

Ah, spring! The season of regrowth, of new excitement and possibilities. 

But there is something about spring that makes you want to start new and refreshed, to reflect on your goals and what you want for yourself. The sun is out and it’s your time to shine!

Here’s several ways you can enjoy the season and take care of yourself at the same time.

1. Join a Community Garden

Plants may be one of the most cliche images of spring known to mankind. But that’s part of why we love spring, right?

With fresh, new produce and flowers hitting the grocery stores—no more mediocre strawberries—it’s easy to get caught up in the greenery around you. But why not take it a step further?

Joining a community garden can not only give you organic produce; it also gives you a sense of accomplishment. Doesn’t walking through your own neighborhood’s Garden of Eden that you helped grow sound delightful? Plus, studies show that gardening can greatly lower stress.

2. Switch Out Your Candles

Listen. I love a good Pumpkin Spice Cupcake scented candle as much as the next person. But I think we can agree that it’s for winter, when you want to bury your face in wool blankets and stand on top of a heater for your whole day.

It’s okay. It’s time. Let it go.

And by “let it go,” I mean put it in your storage cabinet next year and go out shopping for a new one!

Having a spring-inspired scent will simply get you in the mood to be—well—springy. Some of my favorites are those with eucalyptus and/or citrus notes, both of which are said to have positive energetic effects!
