Summertime grilling! Which means lots of outdoor BBQs, and lots of easy & delicious meals. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite foods (from sweet to savory) that we’ve been grilling this summer. What are your favorite foods to grill? Let us know!
Love salty snacks? We love grilling this gluten-free snack option. Just combine popcorn kernels, oil (of your choice, we recommend a drop of coconut oil), and sea salt into an aluminum baking pan and cover lightly with foil. Grill on medium heat and use tongs to shake the tin lightly as the popcorn starts to pop.
2. Sweet Loren’s Cookie Dough
Yes, you can bake our cookies on the grill! Just place the cookie dough on aluminum foil, set the grill to about 325 F & leave for 15-20 minutes! The cookies should be slightly golden brown on the edges and puffed up in the center when done.
*depending on your type of grill (gas or charcoal), baking times and temperatures may vary
Who doesn’t love a good brie for an appetizer? Place your brie wheel on a large piece of foil, drizzle with oil of your choice and fold the foil to cover the cheese. With your grill heated to medium-low, grill the cheese for about 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted (it will feel soft to touch). Top with your choice of figs, candied nuts and/or honey!
4. Fruit Skewers
This is the perfect way to upgrade your usual fruit bowl with sophistication and more flavor. Our favorites to grill are pineapple and peaches because they are tougher and can hold up against the heat of a grill. The added grill flavor makes them a little smokey which adds extra flavor dimension. Serve with some cookies or ice cream, and you have a healthy and decadent dessert.
